I love the Christmas season. The decorations and the lights. Fudge, caramel corn, sugar cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate. Playing games with the kids. Listening to Christmas music. Family movie nights watching Elf or Christmas Vacation or one of the many Christmas specials on TV like Frosty the Snowman or A Charlie Brown Christmas. The excitement that builds as the anticipated day draws nearer. I love being able to help those less fortunate. I love celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Whole grain popcorn???
O.K. so I was making myself some popcorn this evening when I decided to read the box. Normally, I buy Act brand popcorn, but apparently Walmart decided not to carry it anymore (or maybe they were just out). I bought two boxes of Orville Redenbacher. One with lots of yummy butter, because my son wanted it, and one that said 97% fat free (should've known better). Anyway, I was reading the box and noticed that it said 100% whole grain popcorn. hmmmm. Can anyone tell me what other kind of popcorn there is? Isn't the kernel the "whole grain?" Is there an "enriched" version? Think maybe its a marketing ploy??? I love reading labels anyway. Once I bought this drink mix called "Fruit-teas" that was supposed to taste like a fruity tea. On the back it said, "This product contains no fruit and no tea." The funny thing is, we fall for these marketing lies most of the time and don't even know it.

COMMON SENSE
I think everyone should read Dave Ramsey's Common Sense Fix. In today's economic nightmare, his solution makes the most sense to me. Read about it at http://www.daveramsey.com/.
